New Techs

Belfegor writes "The PBS series Nova has a great feature on their website, regarding the coverage of the DARPA-sponsored 'Robot Race' in which driverless vehicles 'competed' in a 130-mile race across the Mojave Desert. The full show is available on the website, and besides that they have plenty more information about the robotics behind the challenge, and also some pretty cool out-takes from the show."

Its intriguing seeing "space age" things such as driverless cars come into reality. I don't know how soon this type of thing will be implemented into everyday life but hopefully it will be soon.

The beginning....

Finally i have completed my computer. It took a while and i had a few minor setbacks but its running smoothly now. With the exception that i havent found a program to play DVD's except Windows Media player but that shall soon be resolved thanks to tucows. I ran into problems with the power supply but managed to get it exchanged for a working one. I also had a bit of trouble with my SATA HDD when i realised that i was missing a power connector for it on my power supply and had to get an adapter.

Now its running fine and looking good. The graphics that my new graphics card can chomp out is great. Well apart from that I've done just the normal stuff this week. I've done 3 hours on the help Desk and attended all the lessons.

It certainly took long enough for me to finally finish installing windows and all the drivers. I started the installations at about 4:30pm and it took until 7:00pm.
